Yellowstone Family Tours Built for Multi-Generational Travelers

‘See It Together’ Campaign Shapes a New Approach to Yellowstone Family Tours

Jackson, United States – May 21, 2026 / Teton Expeditions /

JACKSON HOLE, WY – Teton Expeditions is relaunching in Jackson Hole with a straightforward premise at the heart of its next chapter: families should not simply pass through Grand Teton and Yellowstone. They should experience them together, fully and meaningfully.

Re-founded by Jeff Tibbitts and Evan Toal, Teton Expeditions brings more than 50 combined years of guiding, outfitting, and wildlife interpretation across the Greater Yellowstone ecosystem. The company exists in a new form today, but its origins trace back to the 1970s, when David Tibbitts helped establish a guiding philosophy grounded in knowledge, humility, patience, and deep respect for the land.

David Tibbitts was Jeff’s father. He was also one of the earliest influences on both Jeff and Evan, demonstrating what guiding could look like when approached with genuine purpose. Not as a transaction. Not as a checklist. But as a sincere effort to help people understand and care about a place.

“We know what it looks like when this is done right,” said co-founder Evan Toal. “We built this company around that vision.”

Teton Expeditions offers half-day and full-day guided wildlife tours of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park, with pickup and drop-off available throughout the Jackson Hole area. Tours are designed for small groups, families, multi-generational travelers, and guests seeking a more personal way to explore the parks.

The company’s message, “See It Together,” reflects the type of experience Teton Expeditions is structured to provide. A child encountering a moose for the first time. Grandparents watching bison move across an open valley. Parents taking the time to truly understand what surrounds them. The objective is not only to show guests wildlife, but to create shared memories that stay with an entire family long after the trip ends.

“The parks are for everyone,” said co-founder Jeff Tibbitts. “But not everyone experiences them the same way. We want families, older travelers, and first-time visitors to feel comfortable, curious, and included from the moment they step into the vehicle.”

That guest-centered approach informs every element of the operation. Tours are intentionally paced. Questions are welcomed. Guides are chosen not only for their depth of knowledge, but for their character, patience, and ability to connect with guests across generations. Many bring backgrounds in natural history, science education, outdoor leadership, and wildlife interpretation.

For families, this means the natural world is made accessible at every age. For older travelers, it means no rushed itineraries, no crowded buses, and no sense that a slower pace or an extra question is unwelcome. Each tour is built around connection: to the land, to the wildlife, to the guide, and to the people sharing the experience.

The Greater Yellowstone ecosystem ranks among the most significant wild landscapes in North America. Grizzly bears, wolves, bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, eagles, and a wide range of other species inhabit a region shaped by geology, conservation, migration, and generations of stewardship. Teton Expeditions works to help guests understand that broader story.

“Every family that spends a day in the parks with one of our guides is a potential steward,” Tibbitts said. “Every kid who sees a moose cross a river for the first time is a future advocate. That is what this is really about.”

Teton Expeditions is currently booking tours for the 2026 season. Half-day and full-day wildlife tours are available for Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. Private tours and group rates are offered for families, multi-generational travel parties, and special occasions.

New focus. Right people. Fifty years in the making.
